Ideas for improving Stoneyroyd

  1. Plant seeds in grassland adjacent to number 2 to create a wildflower meadow. Flowers such as cornfield annual mix, this includes cornflower, corn poppy, corn marigold and corn cockle. As well as bluebell, Foxglove, Moon daisy and wild pansy, (type of flowers will depend on soil type).

  2. Randomly plant spring/summer flowering bulbs.

  3. The rough land on the left as you come up Stoneyroyd could be planted up with Rhododendron, Azalea, Hebe and Hollies. All are low maintenance.

  4. Also plant Buddleia and Primrose which will attract butterflies and ladybirds and Guelder Rose to attract birds.

  5. Even out the rough ground and remove the weeds. To stop weeds reoccurring use a weed suppressing membrane.

  6. Re point and paint the brick work around the grit bin and near the council offices.

  7. Level area near the council offices put down decorative chippings and plant small conifers or bushes.

Any other ideas will be appreciated.
